Rebel’s struggles

~By Stephen Blackwood

When are you going to see,

the missing bars of this mental jail?

the cracks in their argument?

the gaping holes in their logic?

Aren’t they big enough for you to slip away?

For your mind’s like water & soul’s like the wind-

not bound by any cracks or gaps;

But, destined for it’s own path?

So tell me, how long are you going to ignore your instincts?

How long are you going to pretend, that there’s no rebel inside you?

How long are you going to blame others,

for your own lack of courage?

How long are you going to act

as if you don’t know that

if it’s going to happen,

it’s upto you & no one else ?

How long, exactly?
